Well Child Visits (Birth - 18 Years)

Infants and toddlers under the age of two years are seen at regular intervals to ensure normal growth and development. All of our physicians are highly trained in normal developmental parameters. We give advice on weaning and strongly recommend immunizations. After the age of two years we recommend that children are seen on an annual basis as per guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics (and covered by insurance companies in Bermuda).

Lactation Education from a certified lactation consultant

Dr. Woodward is a certified lactation consultant through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. She, along with our nurse, gives advice on feeding and any other issues pertaining to care of the newborn. As a practice we are strongly supportive of breastfeeding and will endeavor to ensure that all mothers who wish to breastfeed are given the best support possible.

Pediatric Consultations

Our physicians are happy to offer half hour consultations for patients of GPs or patients of other practices who require a second opinion.

Registered Nurse available for triage and advice

Our nurse is available from 08:00-15:30 Monday to Friday to offer advice for any medical issues. Out of hours we offer an on-call service through one of our physicians. When calling the office you will be directed to the most appropriate member of the team who can help with any concerns that you may have.

Neonatal, High-Risk, and Premature Infant Care

All of our physicians have trained to care for sick newborns and premature infants. On occasion babies need to be cared for off-island when problems develop that require a level of care not available in Bermuda. Our physicians are capable of managing neonatal emergencies and problems and arranging safe transfer when required. Our physicians offer a prenatal visit to expecting mothers to give an opportunity to meet your pediatrician.

Sick Visits

We ensure that, if requested, we see unwell children on the same day that you call. We provide advice through our on-call service in the evening.

Immunizations

At Edgewood Pediatrics we strongly recommend vaccinating your children. We are happy to discuss the evidence in support of vaccination. Our vaccination schedule is as follows: Immunization Schedule
